There are no words for what 30 years feels like.

When my brother and I founded Harlow & Stone in Melbourne, Australia, we were not thinking about trends, runways, or fashion seasons.

We were thinking about our mother.

She believed something simple, but powerful — that the way you dress changes the way you move through the world. Not because clothing makes you someone different, but because the right piece reminds you of who you already are.

She would tell my brother before he left the house:

“Stand tall. Dress like you mean it.”

And before every occasion that made me nervous, she would say:

“You already know who you are. Just make sure what you’re wearing knows it too.”

We lost her years ago. But we never lost what she taught us.

So 30 years ago, in a small Melbourne atelier, we started building Harlow & Stone around one question:

Does this help someone feel like themselves again?

Not younger.
